About Dr David O’Connell
Having qualified in Medicine in 1978 from the University College Cork, Dr David O’Connell went on to complete house jobs at the Royal Hospital. He moved to London to complete his GP vocational training scheme. Then received his Certificate of General Practice Training on the Bart’s and Hackney rotation. Dr David O’Connell became increasingly unsatisfied with the quality of the care provided by the NHS. Consequently, he made the move to become a private GP by joining the practice of the late Sir Noel Moynihan.
Throughout his career as a private GP, Dr David O’Connell has provided his professional medical advice to the likes of Marks and Spencer, Tiffany, the DVLA, British Nuclear Fuels and the Benefits Agency. He has also been the Chief Medical Officer for Natural Biosciences SA (stem cells).
In addition to his keen interest in general medicine, Dr David O’Connell also focuses his interests on Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and the diagnosis of conditions that are seemingly un-diagnosable. He is proud to be a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine, the RSA, the Royal Institute of Public Health and the Royal Society of Health. Outside of his highly acclaimed medical career, Dr David O’Connell is interested in history, racing yachts and eccentrics.
Who Is Dr David O’Connell – Private GP London?
Dr David O’Connell is a highly experienced medical professional with a keen interest in the general practice of medicine. His focus is on being able to offer an impeccable service to each and every patient. He qualified in Medicine at the University College Cork in 1978 and has continued to expand his knowledge on the area ever since. After completing his house jobs at the Royal Hospital, Dr David O’Connell moved to London to complete his GP vocational training scheme. He obtained his Certificate of General Practice Training on the Bart’s and Hackney rotation.
Once fully qualified, Dr David O’Connell was increasingly unhappy with the quality of the care that was available on the NHS and decided to make the move into private healthcare. He joined the late Sir Noel Moynihan at his private practice. Subsequently, he has been working as a private GP in Chelsea ever since.
Throughout his extensive medical career, Dr David O’Connell has provided advice to Tiffany, British Nuclear Fuels, Marks and Spencer, the Benefits Agency and the DVLA. In addition to general medicine, his main interests include diagnosing the seemingly undiagnosable and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
Dr David O’Connell has featured in Debrett’s People of Today since 1991, and he is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine, the RSA, the Royal Society of Health and the Royal Institute of Public Health. Outside of his medical career, Dr David O’Connell’s interests range far and wide; from history to yachts!
Visiting The Chelsea Green Practice
Dr David O’Connell offers face to face consultations home visits and phone consultations between 8.30am and 6 pm Monday to Friday. Saturday appointments can also be arranged, and telephone consultations can be organised for outside of these times.
An initial consultation with Dr David O’Connell will last roughly one hour and will include a review of your medical history. Follow up consultations will be around 30 minutes, depending on your medical conditions and symptoms. The practice makes sure not to rush appointments, to deliver exceptional patient care. 24-hour care is also available for patients, as The Chelsea Green Practice partners with an On Call Doctors Service that provides medical care outside of the normal opening hours.
